Chalkboard Stencils are a fun idea and way to make walls come to life. Each design is fully customizable with names, logos, designs and more. You can transform a boring sign in a waiting room, salon, spa, kitchen, restaurant, office and more into a interesting and functional work of art.
The original concept for this idea came from Tamra Alexander Cook (click to visit her website) and it has proven to be a very popular idea.
Chalkboards no longer have to be green or black as the recipe below describes how to make your own chalkboard paint which is as durable as the store bought ones. With the ability to have the chalkboards any color the designs options are limitless! Now you can put them in kids rooms, nurseries, teens rooms, on doors and much more.
Using the mix above roll on 2 coats allowing 2 hours dry time between coats. Then let the 2nd coat dry overnight. At that time you can overlay the second stencil and either paint or gild (leaf or foil). Allow that to dry 4 hours and you are done. What you end out with is custom wall art.

Chalkboard paint mix needs 3 days to cure before using. At 3 days simply take the side of a piece of white chalk and rub the entire board and erase it. Then before you can wash it you have to wait out a full 7 day cure time.
